1 | I have a MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Early 2015) that says the battery needs servicing - I assume this means I need a new battery - currently it will hold a charge for a few hours and I mainly use it at home so can plug it in - my question is - is it worth getting replaced or am I better off putting the money towards a new laptop - or perhaps an iPad (I use it emails, facetime, browsing the web, social media, storing my knitting/sewing patterns and watching netflix/neon on - I welcome any thoughts ali291 - 2021-10-19 13:13:00 |
2 | Why would you buy an entire new device just because the battery is flat? lythande1 - 2021-10-19 15:12:00 |
3 | You can still use it for quite a lot longer, even if the battery is getting a bit worn out. Once the battery dies it will probably go slower. Here is a guide to replace it which I found after a quick google search https://www.zdnet.com/article/heres-how-to-replace-the-batte tygertung - 2021-10-19 15:20:00 |

5 | Replacing a MacBook Pro with a new model is a big spend, if you're happy with what it does then find out the price of a genuine battery install. And remember that Facetime is an Apple app, don't buy a Windows or Android laptop without thinking about that. gyrogearloose - 2021-10-19 15:43:00 |

9 | If as you say you use it mainly at home, why don't you just use it plugged in to the power socket? I've been doing that for years... deecee2 - 2021-10-19 16:18:00 |

13 | My friend has a 2013 Macbook Pro or something like that, and he has been using it for video editing, however the battery died and then the CPU throttled back terribly making the thing unusable. Maybe the theory is that it might draw on the battery under high stress? Who knows. Anyway that's my anecdotal evidence. tygertung - 2021-10-19 18:36:00 |
