Am a rookie with lino cut printing, just moved from using baren to having bought a small relief press. From what I've seen, the blankets are not essential because with lino you are taking a clean print from the surface on smooth paper. Is this right? I have sheets of rigid plain cardboard (from back of A3 art paper pad that might do just as well if needed. Perhaps!) Your expertise, please - specifically from artists using lino on a relief press, not etching press. Thanks.
