Is it even possible to stop them?
Is the issue more something the whole world/internet is struggling with, rather than individual website security?

Decentralized Finance is the answer, passwords and other outdated security are not enough to protect networks anymore, its has to be cryptographically protected against users and hackers, the security is built in with audits every ten minutes, this why VISA already has is utilizing Ethereum to secure their crypto card.

Our website has someone trying to log in every few minutes, for the last 10 years. After a few attempts, our software blocks that IP address. So that is very easy to do.
I don't know when the IP address is unblocked if ever. Otherwise all IP addresses will be unusable one day!

Nobody is offering to go help the banks with their cyber security for very good reasons. Too cheap, and too far behind.

Laughs no idea , worthless , 1 person trying to log into 1 ip is hardly 10 000 bots hitting multiple ip address at the same time

This isn't hardware, it is software. They sell it as a virtual device vAED or if you want the turnkey solution they sell you the box to run it on as well.

No, its either. because its an appliance. As a VM it runs its own OS, and requires virtualised hardware like any VM. Or it comes as hardware, sold by netscout.
But either way what it does is block DDOS attacks.
