Hi really frustrated, considering just buying a new one.
trying to get wifi on tv for netflix, Ive going to settings , then network , and clicked on wifi connection , and all that comes in is wifi turned off... the modem is all correct and we get netflix on phone no problem, it has been very hit and miss on tv for about 6 months , usually would work if turned off at switch, but then doesnt , so use to do the process again, but now we cant even connect. Would really like some help, we did try resetting the tv to, but that didnt work either..

iI the modem too far away from the tv for you to connect the tv to it by ethernet cable ? This would then remove the need for a wifi connection and give you a faster more stable connection anyway.

Hi thankyou , it's about 5-6 metres away on kitchen bench facing tv , I can't move it closer unfortunately , can you buy really long Ethernet cables ? a possibility would be to run it all the way around the skirting I guess maybe 9 metres ..

Ethernet can run up to 100 M . Just measure up what you want and get the local tech shop to provide that length. It should NOT be expensive at all.

You can buy premade network cables, most common ones are 1,2,3,5,10,20 metres

another option if you don't want cables running around the room is to buy a wifi access point that has a client mode. Access point will sit behind the tv and connect wirelessly back to the wifi router, small network cable into the TVs network port

To start with, how about moving the tv next to or closer to the router and see if that makes a difference

OH you REALLY need to wise up. 3-4 years old is YOUNG and while it may be past the 'Warranty' period it is NOT PAST the CGA period. Go find some info on how long TV's are supposed to last according to the CGA expectation. A 'reasonable' time frame is 6-12 years. You're just shooting yourself in the foot and probably writing off your chances of a replacement or repair simply because you don't understand you RIGHTS under NZ LAW.
