I have a bunch of black paper that would be good for the kids to use.
Can someone recommend pens suitable for it?
Metallics would be cool
Do gel pens work? Or would I have to go to something like an artline paint pen?

Metallics would be great callum. I've not used gel pens, but I am sure that they would be suitable as well. A white chalk pen should work well too..

I'm not sure about an artline paint pen though.

If you need to buy something, take a piece of black photo paper with you to the store, to try out.

I generally have this sort of thing in stock, but I don't right now. I'd have sent you one otherwise.

Damn, I've just realised that it isn't photo paper?, so now not so sure. Depends on the paper I'd say.

Pretty sure you can get specialist colour pens for black paper, photographers and artists use them. I usually stick to silver and gold though
