What EXACTLY are you doing when this message comes up?

Do you have your old phone still operational?

You shouldn't have to manually add contacts.

Back in the old days of the old Black and White Nokias the shop could often even transfer over all the contacts. Like 20 years ago.

You should be able to transfer CONTACTS via Bluetooth from Phone A to phone B

The last time I upgraded my phone about three years ago, the shop transferred everything from the old phone to the new.

Yes we know but we can't see your device. We have NO idea what you are tapping on to do that. So 'for the third time'

What EXACTLY are you doing when this message comes up?

Pretend we are blind and describe what you're doing.

What/where are you 'pushing' on?

If I want to add a contact from a phone number I LONG PRESS on that phone number and get a menu. One of the items is 'new contact'.

Are you looking pressing on the phone number that called you?

Your phone is probably suggesting 2 apps to store the new contact with, select your preferred one and then tap "always"

Up comes two options " Just once" or "always"........

You're not telling all the info. WHAT ' Just once or Always'

nice_lady - 2021-08-18 17:00:00

It's asking you to DO something or Use a particular process or App 'once or Always''. What is it saying - EXACTLY? This info is what we need to know.

Just do it once. Why not?

If it's a new phone, it is asking you ...
What do you want to do by default each time you long press on a number?
1. Add to contacts
2. Call the number
Once you have chosen an option and selected Always, that will be the new default action the phone takes when you long press a number, until you change the default behavior. You get the same thing on PC when you open double click a file for the first time if it's not automatically recognised.
If you want it to be just once, then it will ask you the same question next time.
