Why do they not supply food at auctions?

1 | Do any of the agencies? I went to an auction at the real estate office. 3 sections and 3 houses auctioned all sold. There is a bit of a wait negotiating with top bidder out the back before the next property. Even if people just go for a sandwich and a cup of tea they might buy a property. I thought about buying the one that was a bargain without viewing it. Small unit stuck on small cross lease title with another small unit would of got someone into their first property. ash4561 - 2021-08-08 10:12:00 |

14 | If it's an onsite auction, they'll probably serve the food in here: https://www.facebook.com/TerribleRealEstateAgentPhotographs/ sparkychap - 2021-08-10 20:51:00 |

16 | Would this "free food & drink" be on the real estate companies tab, or would it be an item on-charged to the seller, as extra marketing ? onl_148 - 2021-08-11 14:51:00 |
17 | Well Ash, maybe they know you're unlikely to complete your purchase. clicketyclick1 - 2021-08-13 01:04:00 |
18 | How many 'Open Homes' offer refreshments? Surely that would be a better opportunity to lure in the unintended but potential buyer. brouser3 - 2021-08-13 15:06:00 |
19 | I'm not an Estate agent so I can't comment on it directly, but I am a car dealer and I can say I am not interested in attracting masses of people to look at my cars, I am only interested in attracting one buyer, in fact sometimes I even discourage people form looking, I imagine it might be the same for estate agents. curlcrown - 2021-08-15 15:52:00 |

A good agent will turn a viewing into a prospect, offering a free appraisal and trying to get a viewer to list. After all, "successful agents" may not always sell the most, but may be able to list the most. In addition the more people through the open homes the more the agent can justify what a great job they've done to the vendor AND to prospective vendors.
