We spent 3 weeks in a motel as part of our last buy and sell. All expected and part of the plan. A couple in another unit had spent 5 months waiting for their house to be completed.

The neighbour "knocked" on his door.
Yeah, I'll sell if/when I find something suitable.

Jumping jacks, not that hard!

Now that he's homeless - just go on Cindys waiting list for a free house.

'Homeless' ???? Must of been 'broke' as well. Surely one would expect that they had enough resources not to be involuntarily 'couch' surfing, even if it meant forgoing some holiday time in some exotic part of NZ (due to covid travel restrictions) and spend those funds on short term accommodation place near to where family life revolved.

It sounds like he is a bit of a "drama queen".. I doubt he is the first or the last person to find themselves in this situation !!
Running off to the press with your sob story would not be the best pr for a mortgage broker... "can not even get selling and buying his own home right, do we trust him with sorting out our mortgage requirements" ?? In this world it is all to do with perception
