My 'print screen' won't work

| I've done all the things microsoft advice says, and can get a screenshot by pressing the Win, shift and S keys, which opens the snipping bar, but for the life of me can't get the Print Screen key to work. It doesn't appear to work, and if it does, can't find where its storing the images. zevion - 2021-06-14 17:30:00 |
| print screen copies to the clipboard, so you then need to paste it somewhere eg word or imaging software king1 - 2021-06-14 18:08:00 |
| If you mean you're opening the snipping tool, (you said 'snipping bar'), then you need to then use the mouse to clik on the menu item 'New' and then drag the mouse over the area you want to do a screen shot of . When you have that covered you then release the mouse and it'll give you a box which has the picture in it and gives you options to save/print etc.. ETA: no i get what you're doing and yes after you have the 'snip' you then have to PASTE it into a program such as Windows Paint for instance to then be able to save/print it etc. So just do as you're doing now then open paint/word etc as king1 says, and clik PASTE and you'll see the snip magically appear. Then you can print/save whatever. Edited by nice_lady at 6:58 pm, Mon 14 Jun nice_lady - 2021-06-14 18:55:00 |
| On my computer I hit the Print Screen and the image goes direct to my One Drive folder - to the screenshots folder. zevion - 2021-06-15 12:36:00 |

| I don't use Windows (fortunately) - I use Linux Mint. trade4us2 - 2021-06-19 17:19:00 |
| To do a 'Print Screen' I have to use SHIFT,Print Screen. This copies the whole screen are to the clipboard. I then usually use PhotoShop to Edit/paste to see the image, the selection tool to define the ares required, then copy back to the clipboard. The selected image (jpg) can then be pasted to word, etc. I understand that Paint can also be used this way. mrploppy - 2021-06-19 17:34:00 |
| If I do a screen shot I hit the windows key (under the Z) and the print screen key at the same time, and then find it in file manager under screenshots, easy for me and I,m not that PC savvy but it works. Edited by bill1451 at 6:27 pm, Wed 23 Jun bill1451 - 2021-06-23 18:26:00 |
| You print screen, then paste it somewhere...a document...or open your picture edit program and paste...depending what you want to do with the screenshot. lythande1 - 2021-06-24 08:43:00 |
