Apple Air Tag or GPS to locate lost puppy?

1	We have just got a new puppy and I want to be able to locate it if it gets lost. I've done a little bit of research and I'd appreciate comments from others on what's available in GPS options and if anyone has used an Apple Air Tag (we are Apple phone 7 and 12 users) I know Air Tags only have a limited range about 20 meters, but I think you can use like Find My Phone option which increases range. Also they only have a battery life of 12 months, but this might be ok to get started. GPS options seem to be many but nothing stands out. beachboy61 - 2021-06-10 20:12:00
2	If you're in a town or a city then Airtags are probably better as other peoples' iPhones will help to locate it. The battery lasts a lot longer than the GPS/cell modem devices too. drsr - 2021-06-11 10:03:00

If you're in a town or a city then Airtags are probably better as other peoples' iPhones will help to locate it. The battery lasts a lot longer than the GPS/cell modem devices too.
