Genuine leather braided round cord

#Post
1

HI crafty ones,
Does anyone know where I can get a couple of meters or so of 3mm genuine leather braided round cord ?
I can find the faux PU leather stuff but not real leather,
Also what is the jewelry making name for what I would call a ferrule, ie a tube that I would stick both ends of the cord into to fasten them together.
I don't want to use a lobster clip etc, would prefer a permanent connection.
I guess it's name could be a knot :) but would like to find something more elegant.
It's going to be for a necklace, but a longer one that slips over the head not a shorter choker style.
Thanks..

A good old fashioned cobbler might be able to help...

Or a saddler.

Thanks lilyfield,
Have never looked at etsy before.
Definitely have what I want but the freight prices are a tad eye watering.
Good thought OHH.

Hi folks,
Have found what I want on Amazon, a bugger not on Tme but such is life.
What I wanted to call ferrules are end caps in jewelry language.
Brain dead from a really long search :)
Thanks

Thanks mazalinas, but I'm after braided ie plaited.
The round braided looks like it's made of 4 strands rather then the normal 3 we or at least I think of when using that word.

Have you looked on Aliexpress - they have heaps of craft stuff, some is free shipping, and even if you have to pay shipping it's usually peanuts. Does take a while to arrive though.

Hi kuaka, thanks for the idea.
Have found what I want from Amazon.
But will still have a nosey at some different ideas from OHH.
Would be nice to find something in NZ even if a bit more expensive.

Smyrnia if you are on FB then put a post on one of the NZ made products pages - there are so many very talented people on there that there is sure to be some who will be able to help.

342, Thank you, yep that is perfect :)
It's not a shop I've ever been in or think about.
Will go for a nosey next week.
shelleigh, I tend to avoid fb, but a good thought for a plan B.
