Dish TV devices

1 | Just thought I would post how good I have found the customer service from the Dish TV people. I have used various models of their set top boxes over the years, and any time I have had issues which have not been sorted byt heir support people, they have suggested I send the device to them, and every time (about 4 times in total over the years) they have repaired the devices free of charge. The only cost to me has been the courier cost getting it to them. The last one really takes the cake, an SNT7070 lost the HDMI output altogether. In this case they couldn't solve the problem, so just sent me a refurbished replacement item. There are often complaints on here about getting equipment repaired, especially when out of warranty, so it's nice to find a company that actually cares about its customers. rpvr - 2021-04-08 15:10:00 |
2 | Good in them for sticking to their customer. They're really don't what they're legally required to do anyway. Many don't. Warranty periods are pretty irrelevant now with the CGA. But really that's good service. nice_lady - 2021-04-08 15:39:00 |
3 | In the bedroom I have an old s7010pvr DishTV, had it about 15 years, now and again it freezes and I have to unplug it and plug it back in to unfreeze it. I also have a newer DishTV satbox plus s7080 I bought secondhand off TM 02/2020 and never had a problem with it. Did they ask to see a purchase receipt? Great product. Matched by a great company. Good to know if I buy a new one, one day. muppet_slayer - 2021-04-08 16:26:00 |

No, never asked for a purchase receipt at all. The most recent one which they replaced, was bought on Trademe (and not a lot paid for it, either). Yeah, a good product, if a bit touchy at times. rpvr - 2021-04-08 21:01:00 |
5 | Wow they sure are a great company then. Their set top boxes are so easy to operate as well, you don't have to be a genius to set them up, firmware updates are easy, and to hear that they stand by their product 100%, even when you have bought a secondhand one off the net, is very reassuring. Well done dishTV. If I ever do need to buy a new one it will definitely be a DishTV brand. muppet_slayer - 2021-04-08 21:49:00 |
6 | Dish are a great and helpful company and their boxes are pretty much trouble free. A remote crapped out once and they sent a new one for just a few dollars. We use their recording feature most days for The Chase. bryshaw - 2021-04-09 14:26:00 |
