| Looking at this with Windows 8.1 os --- https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/marketplace/mobile-phones/mobile Edited by olack at 11:34 am, Sat 20 Mar olack - 2021-03-20 11:30:00 |
| I have one of these I think. The problem is the windows store is not available anymore as they are now unsupported, and the browser crashes a lot now. Their battery life is very good though. tygertung - 2021-03-20 12:13:00 |
| don't bother, they stopped making them for a reason. Seemed to go alright but never got any traction against Apple and Google. It will only lead to disappointment... king1 - 2021-03-20 12:53:00 |
| Yeap olack - why ? nice_lady - 2021-03-20 12:56:00 |
| I only need the simple functions of the mobile phone, I do not need internet with it. olack - 2021-03-20 13:09:00 |
| Just phone and txt. I would miss internet tho. It has been useful for those unexpected needs. olack - 2021-03-20 13:10:00 |
| olack wrote Just because something (an app) is available to use "You Do Not Have To Use it". Just Ignore it!., and only use the other functions that you require. Or is someone twisting your arm? Edited by perfectimages at 1:31 pm, Sat 20 Mar perfectimages - 2021-03-20 13:28:00 |
| I've got a Microsoft Lumia 650 and thought they were brilliant phones, upgraded it to Windows 10, and then they shut the app store and one by one all the apps got clobbered and only the phone functions were left. The best feature was being able to code using Visual Studio, test it on the desktop, and then sideload it to the phone without much trouble. gyrogearloose - 2021-03-20 13:45:00 |
| You'd be lucky to be able to buy a windows phone now. They are no longer made nor supported. Don't. nice_lady - 2021-03-20 14:46:00 |
| The topomap programme is good, I have it on my one, but you might not be able to get it anymore as the windows store is closed. tygertung - 2021-03-20 14:53:00 |
| Well, for those simple tasks, I would, personally, go with any new Nokia with their simple KaiOS, they have pretty much everything you need, something like: flower_tears - 2021-03-20 20:46:00 |

| AT Mobile app, along with most other apps including AT Park, Uber and TradeMe etc will be an issue on any device other than Apple iPhone or Android. Used to have a Nokia 520 in the past and it was a good value phone compared with early Android devices but Android won the war for a reason. Perhaps just look at a basic Android phone like a Nokia and set it up with just the basic apps you need, download maps and turn off mobile data. gblack - 2021-03-23 07:19:00 |

| For what it's worth, I'm still using my HP x3 Windows Phone, I love it. Hardware-wise it's fantastic, long battery life, nice big screen, camera is good, dual-sim etc. And it's relatively 'young', less than 3 years. But yes, lack of updates or support (both HP & MS) have left it quickly lagging behind. Nice hardware spoilt by abandonment! cookee_nz - 2021-03-29 17:04:00 |
