New Zealand Certificate in Real Estate?

1 | Hi guys, a request for some advice if I may. In approximately a years’ time I’ll be setting up and managing a portfolio of small to medium sized commercial properties on Auckland’s North Shore. Size of the portfolio is estimated to be 10 to 15 properties. I have extensive experience in project management, facilities management and have been involved in commercial leasing (on behalf of tenants) for quite some time. I have also been a residential landlord (“Ma & Pa” retirement portfolio) for over 15 years, and have successfully bought & sold a number of properties privately. In lieu of this project I’m looking to broaden my knowledge of the Real Estate industry and am considering doing an online New Zealand Certificate in Real Estate (level 4) course. Would this be of any help to me and if so, who would you recommend? (open polytechnic, Unitec, etc.). Thanks for the anticipated replies. sr2 - 2021-03-07 18:59:00 |

Probably of little value to you. Hold off until the property management licensing regime is announced and then qualify. johnston - 2021-03-07 19:09:00 |
3 | I did the Certificate in real estate many years ago through open polytech. I found it informative so it could be useful for you. megan109 - 2021-03-07 22:34:00 |
4 | I am having a slight change of heart. Generally I consider any study worthwhile and for sure you will learn of the environment agents work in which will likely be beneficial. johnston - 2021-03-08 08:22:00 |

6 | In my opinion you should only do the course if you are planning to be a licensee. superdave0_13 - 2021-03-09 10:36:00 |
