4 | My kid has talked to apple to reset her phone after locking it, as long as you know the answers to your 3 security questions and a few other things you should be fine. loud_37 - 2021-01-22 19:41:00 |

9 | is there a fix? Ridiculous state of affairs to lock a phone that I have paid for but now cannot use. Security or not this security system is flawed there should be some other form of security surely nanee2jlp - 2021-01-23 11:53:00 |

It's not flawed at all. It's designed to keep your data safe if you lose or have the phone stolen. Do you not have access to your Apple ID associated with the old phone? Surely it's the same as your new phone. sw20 - 2021-01-23 12:52:00 |
11 | No, the problem is this old phone was used to use "find my phone on icloud" and I do not remember the password I used at the time nanee2jlp - 2021-01-23 13:18:00 |
12 | The password is your apple id password. sw20 - 2021-01-23 14:26:00 |
13 | not remembering a password is not a technical fault. Lastly, do not use a 3rd party service, they are all scams. If you can't get it solved with apple you'll have to right it off as a loss. Edited by bitsnpieces2020 at 3:25 pm, Sat 23 Jan bitsnpieces2020 - 2021-01-23 15:24:00 |
14 | Welcome to the Apple Brick Company.. "just one slip of the memory and you have the most expensive paper weight in the world". "if the place you got the phone from still exists, they can probably reproduce the invoice (they are required to keep records for tax purposes for 7 years)." It is one thing to produce a receipt from ABC Phone Ltd that shows they sold a iPhone 5 on 27th Feb 2019, it is sometimes another thing for the receipt to also say it was serial number 12345 and it was sold to Fred Smith.. onl_148 - 2021-01-28 15:53:00 |

If you forget your password you can reset it with your email or other Apple devices. Don't let that get in the way of your story though. sw20 - 2021-01-28 22:21:00 |

Can you please basically outline the procedure... please factor in that the user does not have any email address associated with the apple device and it has never been backed up to the cloud or similar onl_148 - 2021-02-09 14:56:00 |
