My Google app has mysteriously changed to the letter ‘L’.
Coincidently my library app has the letter ‘K’.
Could some clever person please explain.

must be something else then, what google app are we talking about?
the only thing google app 'ish that has letter identifiers as you describe (that i know of at least) are the google account buttons, that display the first letter of your first name from the google account...

This on my iPad. There was, until yesterday the multi coloured G on a white background. Now there is just an L? This is on my home page.

weird, it looks like you can customise icons on recent ipads, so maybe that is whats happened, but of course one would have thought you'd know if that was the case. sorry i don't have an ipad here to experiment with. someone else might
