| I have been using Cdex up until now but having a few issues with it at the moment. What other ripping software do you guys use or recommend. Thanks benthecat - 2021-01-09 14:22:00 |
| Few issues as in cannot resolve remote CDDB? acura - 2021-01-09 14:58:00 |
| A few issues ? Great description of problem. Best I've seen for a while. Very succinct. nice_lady - 2021-01-09 15:21:00 |
| I use Windows Media Player (built-in) with no problems. Cheers. shuttleman - 2021-01-09 16:00:00 |
| nice_lady - I was not asking for help with the issues, just recommendations for perhaps another piece of software that was good to use. Acura - yes. And now that I have uninstalled Cdex I can't seem to re-instal it. So therefore I thought I would check out other options. Thanks shuttleman for you recommendation :) benthecat - 2021-01-09 16:49:00 |
| WMP does it all. Why would you use a 3 party app? muppet_slayer - 2021-01-09 17:02:00 |
| You can change the format (mp3 or wma etc) and change the kbps up to 320. muppet_slayer - 2021-01-09 17:04:00 |

| Have wmp open, not the now playing screen/mode, you want the 'To begin, insert a disc into drive....' screen/mode. You can find how to switch it between modes righthand bottom of wmp there is a little symbol three boxes and an arrow, click that to switch between modes. Load your disc into the dvd draw, it should load into wmp and start playing. There will be ticks beside the songs make sure they are all ticked. Just above the row of ticks is 'rip cd' and 'rip settings', these only appear after you load an audio cd. It is in the rip settings where you'll find the format and kbps. When you have set those and at the top of the rip settings drop down box is 'rip (cd name here)', click on it and it'll start ripping into your music folder. 12 | When you rip a cd for the first time it asks you if you want to copy protect the content just tick no do not copy protect and tick the bottom is the eula (end user license agreement). muppet_slayer - 2021-01-10 16:29:00 |
| Cheers muppetslayer. I will check that out and have a play later. benthecat - 2021-01-10 17:13:00 |

| WMP only rips to WMA format though. Right? I always rip to MP3. (Don't ask me what I use. It's a PCWorld thing. From memory.) Try Audio Grabber maybe. bit - 2021-01-10 22:35:00 |
| You can set WMP to rip to MP3, well you could in the XP days anyway. tygertung - 2021-01-10 22:42:00 |

| CDs are rad as, and way more convenient than stuffing around with online streaming. When you are on a road trip you can bung a CD in the CD player. Also more handy as you don't have to boot up a computer to get the music going. tygertung - 2021-01-15 08:05:00 |
| And when you are at the op shop you can just browse through the selection and grab a few for $1 each. tygertung - 2021-01-15 08:05:00 |
| Try Cuetools. Cueripper. Edited by mr-word at 5:50 pm, Tue 26 Jan mr-word - 2021-01-26 17:48:00 |

| Yes, but you can bung the CDs in the CD player, you don't have to worry about how it plays them. tygertung - 2021-01-26 18:11:00 |

It’s common the world over. Men who say they are nice guys are anything but. Countries who have democratic in their name are no such thing. Businesses that proclaim how wonderful they are in the name are generally useless. sw20 - 2021-01-26 21:47:00 |
