Canoscan F9000 MkII - unable to load driver.

I own a Canoscan F 9000 MkII. After a computer problem I found that the driver and software for the scanner had been removed. I downloaded the driver, in fact I have downloaded it several times, but had been unable to load the file. On each occasion I received the following message:
“Zip file is damaged, truncated, or has been changed since it was created. If you downloaded this file, try downloading it again.”
Canon New Zealand has been unable to help me, merely suggesting that I reboot the computer and download the driver again. I had previously tried all this to no avail.
I successfully loaded the driver onto my laptop computer which would suggest that the fault lies somewhere on my desktop.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

So extract the zip file to a folder on your laptop then copy it to data key and onto the main comp?
