Stand mixers - which type?

| My stand mixer has just died. I was looking online but there's so many options. When I got mine it was regular old beaters - now there's whisks and scrapers and all sorts! I really only use mine to make pavlovas and the odd cake. I don't want to spend too much (as much as I'd love a KitchenAid mixer on my bench). Thanks cap - 2020-02-15 10:30:00 |
| Love my Kenwood mixer when after 35 yrs of use it died I bought another off her for $65 been going well for the past 10yrs so I can't grumble. I do have some attachments like the minced, slicer/grater and liquidiser. Also used coffer grinder attachment daily until we replaced espresso coffee machine with a built in grinder mica3 - 2020-02-15 10:48:00 |
| I hadn't thought about second hand. I might look into that. Thanks cap - 2020-02-15 10:57:00 |
| I’d love to own a KitchenAid *sigh*..... but I’ve had a Breville Scraper Mixer for years - it’s used most weeks and still going strong.... dazarae - 2020-02-15 13:31:00 |

| Upgraded from a Kenwood Chef (Christmas gift, I would not have changed just for the hell of it) to a KitchenAid. The KitchenAid is quieter I found and much prettier. It also doesn't seem to move on the bench as much. I have just got the scraper beater and glass bowl, they are fantastic. The only problem is the KitchenAid is slightly taller and will not fit in my pantry, so it lives on the bench. This only means I use it more often, so its all for the best it seems. adragon - 2020-02-17 18:07:00 |
