| Do you know if the more recent ovens turn themselves off if the cook doesn't specify the time? I have a problem with mine, it keeps turning itself off. I use google to time my creations, not the oven but today I set the time on the oven instead and it kept going. The technician is coming to look at it, I'm can't trust it, but then again, maybe it's behaviour is normal? jhan - 2020-01-22 20:27:00 |
| Did you set the cooking time or just the timer? Sorry if this is a dumb question. mica3 - 2020-01-22 21:11:00 |
| Our Bosch oven, now three years old, regularly switches on to the childlock setting and turns itself off when it reaches temperature. It is an incredible annoyance and I assume that there is a fault in the electronics somewhere. I have never used the timer as I don't trust it. davidt4 - 2020-01-22 21:38:00 |
| same here davidt4. I am very disappointed with my Bosch and don't even like the unpredictability of the way anything is cooked. I baked three trays of biscuits from the same mix and every tray turned out different. Bosch said the instructions were for the European market !!! and only to use the 1st setting on the knob on the left when baking. I have the pyroletic self cleaning model which was considerably dearer. It does not self clean totally as you have to remove all the racks and clean by hand Edited by nanee2jlp at 5:33 pm, Thu 23 Jan nanee2jlp - 2020-01-23 17:30:00 |
| There is a lot to be said for the old free standing f&P stoves. They were reliable as clockwork. jhan - 2020-01-23 20:04:00 |
| nanee2jlp I have the same one as you by the description and I put my racks in the dish washer, found it helps. retired - 2020-01-23 21:40:00 |

You're right; same goes for the old F&P fridge freezers. I still have the original 30 year old, ugly brown Atlas Thermowave double oven in this house, and it never misses a beat. The damn thing just won't die. Edited by kaddiew at 8:07 am, Fri 24 Jan kaddiew - 2020-01-24 08:06:00 |

| Yep racks in the dishwasher. I have a friend who soaks her racks in napisan overnight and says cleans well mica3 - 2020-01-24 12:44:00 |
| I can clean the racks alright but feel I shouldn't have to after paying an additional $700 to have a pyroletic one that should be able to do it for me without all the mucking around nanee2jlp - 2020-01-24 12:58:00 |
