6 | The best way is to use a thermometer, as this can take the temp in the centre of the roll, and gives a true reading - which can otherwise change depending on how long the chicken roll was out of the fridge or freezer. For cooking times, this is a excellent site And experienced cooks who may poo-pooh the idea, well, the head chef at the Ritz in London, in a doco a day or so ago, uses one (used on a venison Wellington).... it's good to check, even if only occasionally, but especially if you get a new oven... and it's how I found out there was a problem of one of my elements, checked, and found the reason it was taking so long to get to cooked temp was one element had gone....
