Two points:
- you can opt out and if you don't then it's your own fault
- commercial DNA tests test less than 0.25% of your genome, so I don't think the pharmaceutical companies can really develop any product based on it without some insight into the effects of the other 99.75% of your DNA

So bottom line, read all the t&c's when you sign up and make sure you opt out of anything that isn't to do with genealogy!
