do you manage to get cheese rolls to roll and not break up i use the $1 loaf,I've tried waiting a couple of days for the loaf to gey a little staler,they look awful but taste great,but I do like to use as an occasional social thing?

Try rolling the slices of bread with rolling pin but I always use fresh bread so it doesn't break up. Stale bread will break.

Try cutting the sides off, just leaving the top and bottom crusts.
I never have a problem in getting nice round rolls with fresh bread, no rolling pins involved. The fit better into the containers (chinese takeaway type) that I use to freeze them in, too.

I have never had the cheese rolls break up but have always used really fresh bread - the fresher the better IMO. I also haven't rolled each slice (with a rolling pin or similar), but I have removed the crusts from each slice, on each side and on the inside end, leaving just the outside end crust. Stale bread IMO = toast, bread and butter pudding (sweet or savoury style), breadcrumbs or bread and cheese topping for casserole,.......:-))

So only two crusts do I roll towards crust or the crustless ends? fresher bread is best,I also think I put to much filling as it runs out so when toasted it looks like an empty tube.I do appreciate everyones help thankyou.

Fresh bread, all crusts on...bake them in the oven, not a sandwich machine

another thought I do butter one side on the other I put the fillig then try to rill.

No need to butter until after they're toasted.
I use a flat dessertspoonful of filling, and spread it from the middle to the top and bottom.

As I cut the side crusts off, I roll from what was the bottom of the loaf to the crusty top.

Use fresh bread, and put the mixture on hot, then roll immediately,

Thinnest bread too. Toast slice is not going to happen.
