28 | I've started making uncooked jams using chia seeds to thicken it. I use frozen berries or other fruit. When fruit is almost defrosted I blend to a puree with my hand blender, add sugar/sweetner and blend. Stir in the chia seed and leave to thicken. Pot and keep in the fridge. You are welcome and yes I agree much healthier alternative. It's so easy to make and making small amounts suits our needs well. I made raspberry yesterday which is lovely and also another batch of marmalade with some chopped glace ginger added, it was very nice on my toast this morning. Looking forward to using fresh berries this summer. Edited by nauru at 2:36 pm, Sun 27 Oct nauru - 2019-10-27 14:35:00 |
31 | Ricotta - had heard of it obviously but never made or eaten it - am now in love with it; ricotta with honey is divine. Kimchi. How did I live without it? Been eating it for a couple of years now but it's worth a mention! Smoked chipotle. Unfortunately these do not like me at all; however I indulge from time to time as I adore the taste. awoftam - 2019-10-29 20:14:00 |
