Old Surveyor's notebooks?

| 1 | How do you locate old Surveyor's notebooks? I believe they kept notes books which were then archived. We are interested in the early 1860s period in the area now known as Rodney District (North Auckland). Names like Christian Blucher, perhaps Denham and others. Where are they archived?
