Old Surveyor's notebooks?

#Post
1

How do you locate old Surveyor's notebooks? I believe they kept notes books which were then archived.

We are interested in the early 1860s period in the area now known as Rodney District (North Auckland).

Names like Christian Blucher, perhaps Denham and others.

Where are they archived? Is there a searchable index on the WWW?

Thanks in advance.

Options are:
Auckland Council Archives:

ritage/archives/Pages/default.aspx

Archives NZ
https://archway.archives.govt.nz/

They may not be indexed by name, but by location.

If they were surveys done through Lands & Survey from 1877 on then they will be archived (Archives NZ) . Many records from the provincial Lands Depts would have been archived as well.
