Cut the g syrup right down and substitute coconut sugar which is Low GI for the sugar and you can use less of that too. I always use coconut sugar now instead of white sugar and never use the amount of sugar stated anymore and have never had a fail yet. You could also try brown rice syrup instead of the GS.
