Buddhas Hand Citron

1 | We have an overwhelming load of these this year. These are "extreme" Citrons in that they do not have a very thick skin and little flesh like "normal" citrons, but they have no flesh at all - only skin. I used to cook them then add sugar until candied and then dry and cut into strips and dunk half of them in dark choc for a treat - they keep for years in the freezer. Then last year I used the left over bits and used them in cakes like mixed peel. Very nice too. But this years crop is too huge for that - 3 buckets probably. So what else can I do with them? Ferment? Pickle? Chutney? I am certainly not going to use them for table decorations or air fresheners as the net suggests... uli - 2018-09-24 18:01:00 |

3 | They are not a fruit that I'm familiar with, I've only seen pictures of them. Edited by samanya at 6:45 pm, Mon 24 Sep samanya - 2018-09-24 18:45:00 |

5 | Is anybody interested in my surplus? I can harvest the late ones and make some pics and put up an auction if anybody wants one or two. uli - 2019-08-28 17:01:00 |
