Ok so I was told today that I have enough fabric and that I shouldnt need to get any more for a while haha silly aye. It takes six metres for one single sized quilt....so you have to buy up dont you heaven forbid you should run out lol. ps not hubby that said this he knows way better than that ;)hahaha

It's true.. just as it's true that you can never have enough ink pads, rubber stamps, ribbon, scrapbook paper, cardstock, die cutting machines and dies to go with them. OR wool, cotton, flosses, patterns, bits for your sewing machine, pens pencils, watercolours, brushes and paper (have I missed anyone out?!)

You can never ever have enough fabric. You never know what you may want to make one day and it would be a disaster if you didn't have enough. I have discovered cupboards with doors are fantastic for hiding the stash, cos no-one is going to go looking in there.

lol the best place to hide fabric is in the sheet cupboard. I mean what male in their right mind goes looking for sheets? And if I want to hide anything from the kids in the kitchen, the tea towel draw is the best place lol

Oh dear I have ALL of the above.... and NEVER enough of them, or enough space to put them. Luckily, I live alone in a 3 bedroom house..... but soon my craft gear will be throwing me out!!!

Okay I have found the peom I have a little problem it's called a fabric stash,
My husband doesn't know it, but it cost a lot of cash,
It started out as remnant pieces I brought from a shop, But then became addictive and I really could not stop.
Fat eights became fat quarters, two metres became three; And when I purchased a whole bolt, I thought psychiatry. I couldn't pass a patchwork place I had to go and see; if there were any matching pieces inside the shop for me. So hubby starts to realize one cupboard becomes two; He'll ban me from the fabric stores to keep our marriage true. So I sit at my computer while I'm banished to the house; But he'll have to hide the Visa 'cause I can click the mouse.
There isn't any moral to this tale of fabric woe; Children grow and leave you and husbands come and go. Enjoy your fabric frenzy, it isn't any sin;
REMEMBER the old saying "She who dies with the most fabric....WINS!"

Far to much for me to sew. So having a massave sewing cleaan out to raise funds for the Irish dancing. But it ra=eally does take such a long time to list one item eh hehehehehee I will down size though So I would not end up the winner

#26 and 'that' sums up our spare downstairs bedroom! [ a lovely cool guest room for the hot summer months, but an ice box in winter]..I have a large double wardrobe, all shelved and brimming with patchwork goodies..but over the last 2-3 months..I have made quick forays into this cold room and yesterday I stood..dismayed..at the absolute shambles it is now! lol..I know 'more or less' where everything is..but half the wardrobe is over the double bed and over the floor..so MUCH EASIER to just buy more fabric! [and that is why I have just returned from Arthur Toye..all fabrics have 50% off!]

Dont we know it With all that material When I want to sew another Irish dancing dress I go out and buy more material easier than sorting out what ive got would takes days to try and find it anyways So buying more is the easier options and of course I see other material that would sew up nicely also so buy that to boot. Worst is a wet boring weekend day with nothing to do end up looking on trade me at all the sewing auctions and ouch end up buying yet again. I do realllly i mean realllllllly need help. I have to stop, Getting to old now and thnik of my poor kids when I pass on looking at all the material and saying what the heck do we do with all this now.

Even my bestest friend isnt texting me back, I think shes fabric shopping too. Unless we see photos of these rooms you are telling us about we are gona end up the same as you, we need some in the face evidence to wake us up and realise we are on the slippery slope ....hehehe

Yep You can't have too much fabric. What makes it worse is that I worked in a fabric store soo.. when sale time came poor customers didn't have much to choose from after I have been through it :D I just kept thinking to myself "when I have time I will do something with them.." Of course I never did have enough time... I used to love taking out my organzas/taffetas and draping myself in them!!

sorry hollyj but I have just spent the last week sorting out 2 houses belonging to both my grandmothers and your room is nothing compared to what they have collected! OK, they have probably had tens more years practice but now I have the task of trying to sell it all off for them as neither are able or likely to sew again. I think the hardest part is maybe storing it...their piles look similar to yours just on a much bigger scale. Good luck with the tidy up :)

Oh my gosh Holly Ok that picture did it for me, I will only buy what I have an immediate use for. Oooh you poor thing where do you start to sort that lot and yes I realise its just one corner...maybe if you did get into making quilts your piles would shrink. I have been making a raggie quilt for each childs and grandchilds birthday I use heaps of material for each one. You sew the gorgeous doll clothes what else do you sew? Did you read the message to you about the threader - its just one of those little silver ones but its amazing ok so less than half a second was a bit exagerated but was fast. Hav great weekend. All the best with sorting your room ;)Maybe just hang that messy room sign up and leave it hehehe

We seem to have lost Holly I think maybe she went into the room and may still be there arghh she cant get out. Holly you should of just hang the messy room sign on the door and stayed out. Just buy more fabric and stay out of there, that room may be like the scary washing machine .......if and when you make it out let us know what happened hahaha

sorry dont know how to download or load the photos only jus manage the ones for the auctions. I am not good with computers sorry. But ive been good listed just on 100 patterns so that has removed some sewing temptations. Still going with the sewing assessories which are in the lounge and easier to get to. Not sure when Ill start photgraphing the material for sale dont know where to start with that lot. May make up some more bags of the smaller yard pieces easier for me to sell that way. School holidays now so have the grandchildren to stay so no sewing gets done. Then sewing the team dresses for the dancing school so it will be a few weeks yet. but ill get there. Want some more material holly hehehehe

Dilligaf Heres how to get your photos on here: to upload a photo go to the 'my trade me' tab, then down the bottom 'my photos' then click on upload a photo and choose the photo you want to upload. Once it is uploaded and you can see it in your photo folder, then just click on it and it will come up with its own link - just copy and paste that link in the message so that we can open it and have a look :)Looking forward to your pic :) Holly thankgoodness your ok hehe whew i was having quite some visions of you attempting to tidy the room and ending up stuck in a corner with no way out lol you be careful if you do go in there - take the fone with you and maybe a drink or two just in case ;)Remember the emergency number is 111 hehe All the best. Ooooh cant wait to see Dilligafs pic...
